Why Choose Helix 1.2

There are several reasons to choose Helix 1.2 over RepRap, fabathome, etc.

Helix 1.2 Over RepRap 1.0

Helix 1.2 has an advanced electronics system that drives DC motors instead of RepRap's heavy, bulky, pricey steppers. The Helix requires 4 DC motors for a total of $23. RepRap uses 3 steppers for a total of $90-105ish dollars. The Steppers need control boards that are $35 each, $105 for 3. The Helix Axial Motion controller can be built for $20 dollars. It controlls all four motors. It is also well on its way to self replication (The Axial Motion Controller).
