Reprap Extruders
The thermoplast extruder is fueled by thermoplastics. Thermoplastic is plastic that, when melted and re-hardened, becomes very brittle. It also has a low melting point, which is very handy for this application by making it safer to operate the machine.
Version 2.0 brings faster speed, fewer parts, easier construction, accurate controlling, the ability to be reloaded while working, and more reliable functionality. Compared to the older screw driven extruder, RepRap has switched to a pinch-wheel driven by a stepper instead of a DC motor.
